Electrical Engineer Intern

The Electrical Engineer Intern will work alongside other engineers to support existing products and new product development for the intelligent transportation industry.  An Electrical Engineer Intern may assist in all stages of hardware development from design to schematic analysis and layout review.  The scope of work encompasses embedded devices that enable intelligent transportation systems from computer vision to radar-based detection.

Position Functions

  • Strong desire to apply academic knowledge to practical skills in the areas of circuit design/redesign, design specification verification, mechanical measurements and mockup drawings, schematic analysis and review, layout review, and documentation amongst other activities
  • Willingness to develop the skills necessary to accomplish goals as a part of a team
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, and willing to try new things

Education and Experience/Skills Requirements

  • College student (junior or senior) pursuing their bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Ability to take an active role in defining, designing, and implementing solutions
  • Background in circuit design
  • Ability to research and evaluate new technologies
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-focused development environment

Desirable Skills/Attributes

  • Knowledge of a programming language such as C/C++ or Python
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
