Business Development Director
The Business Development Director is responsible for leading a business development function in North America and is a key leader within Image Sensing Systems (ISS). Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Marketing, and Product Management, this individual is expected to work broadly and collaboratively across ISS to build relationships with our customers, develop innovative solutions collaboratively with the ISS team, and drive the growth of the business.
Specifically, this revenue-generating role will be a critical partner to product development, sales, and the customer success areas of the business. In addition, the manager will work closely with other internal teams to ensure appropriate and optimal deal structuring and project partnerships exist.

Major Job Responsibilities:
- Cultivate relationships with transportation agencies, sales channel partners, and other strategic industry partners.
- Evaluate, define, and execute business development strategies
- Assess and originate ITS project sales across North America
- Provide accurate forecasts on sales and pipeline generation activity to senior sales management
- Lead the preparation of commercial and technical solutions for ISS customers and business partners
- Travel to customer and project sites
Education and Experience:
- 10+ Years of successful sales and business development experience in a technical field. Preference will be given to applicants with ITS experience.
- Demonstrated and verifiable successful track record of year-over-year quota attainment.
- Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter, highly motivated, and ability to work independently but within a team framework.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
Desired Skills and Attributes:
- Experience within the Intelligent Transportation Systems business (ITS) and local and state transportation agency selling.
- History of successful managing regional sales channel partners of traffic/transportation products.
- College degree or equivalent experience, technical degree, or technical training certifications.
- Experience using Salesforce.com or similar CRM.
