Saint Paul, Minn., July 7, 2003 - Image Sensing Systems, Inc. (ISS) (NASDAQ Small Cap: ISNS) announced today that its wholly owned Asian subsidiary, Flow Traffic Ltd., received an order for the supply of the Autoscope® video vehicle detection system from the Korea Highway Corporation (KHC). A total of 178 Autoscope Solo® Pro NC systems were supplied in June for installation during July and August. The Autoscope systems will be used for various traffic data collection and incident detection management. This contract follows last year’s order of 131 Autoscope Solo Pro systems to KHC which was awarded only after the Autoscope detection performance had passed stringent tests. Flow Traffic’s Korean distributor, Kotlis Co. Ltd., will be managing the installation and system integration for the project. The KHC is responsible for construction, repair, and maintenance of roads, toll collection, and development of areas adjacent to highways throughout Korea.
Johan Billow, Managing Director of Flow Traffic Ltd., commented, "I am happy to be able to announce another major contract so soon after our recent success in China. Korea is now our biggest market for video image detection. Autoscope systems processing video from close to 600 cameras will soon be operational throughout the country – from Busan in the South to Seoul in the North. Our advanced technology and reliable products combined with an excellent partnership with Kotlis, a well-qualified contractor for intelligent transport systems, have made us one of the major players in the Korean vehicle detection market.”
