Saint Paul, Minn., March 18, 2003 - Image Sensing Systems, Inc. (ISS) (NASDAQ Small Cap: ISNS) announced today that it has been awarded a contract, through it’s U.K. exclusive distributor Techmiracle Limited, to supply Autoscope Solo® Pro vehicle detection systems for the Clyde Tunnel in Glasgow, Scotland. The vehicle detection systems have been delivered and installed during the first quarter of 2003. The Autoscope Solo Pro is providing automatic stopped vehicle detection and smoke alarm detection. The complete system installed by Techmiracle also includes digital storage capability to automatically record just before and immediately after each incident alarm. In addition, the Autoscope Solo Pro is collecting traffic data, including average speed and volume statistics for the Tunnel Master.

Graham Heywood, Managing Director of ISS European Operations commented, “We continue to demonstrate success in the market place in the use of our world leading video detection technology. The system in the Clyde Tunnel has already been activated and correctly reported an alarm condition seconds after a traffic accident in one of the tunnel tubes. The incident was recorded for replay to the local police authorities.

“We are fast gaining a European reputation as the leaders in tunnel incident detection. Already the Schipol Airport Tunnel in Holland has been fitted with similar technology and later in the year the Tunnel La Gomez in France and the Saltash Tunnel in Cornwall, England will have an Autoscope Solo Pro installation.”

Based in St. Paul, Minnesota, Image Sensing Systems, Inc. is the world leader in video detection products for advanced traffic management systems (ATMS) for highways, tunnel incident detection, intersection control, and traffic data collection.
