Saint Paul, Minn., November 28, 2001 - Image Sensing Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ/Small Cap: ISNS) announced today that it's Autoscope "Solo" and "Solo Pro" line of machine vision processing detection systems has received TR0100 Issue A certification from the United Kingdom Highways Agency. Image Sensing Systems' Autoscope® is the first video-based vehicle detection system to be approved under TR0100 Issue A in the United Kingdom.
According to ISS Chairman and CEO, Bill Russell, use of the Autoscope system within the UK will allow for wide-area and automated incident management on roadways, currently not available through traditional loop detection. In addition, the system allows for data transmission from remote locations via dial up through a GSM cellular connection.
"We worked closely with the Highways Agency on this effort," said Russell. "Our Autoscope system withstood six months of rigorous testing. This certification is a testament to the outstanding reliability of the Autoscope system and our reputation in the marketplace."
The Autoscope system processes images from one to eight video cameras for vehicular and pedestrian traffic control, traffic data collection and automatic incident detection. Image Sensing Systems' latest addition to the Autoscope line, Autoscope Solo Pro™ combines a machine vision processor with built-in color camera and zoom lens. The Solo Pro system provides operating software in ten languages and an IP addressable self-configuring network.
