Autoscope Solo Mobile System Selected for Traffic Aanalysis Applications Throughout Germany

Saint Paul, Minn., March 23, 2000 - Image Sensing Systems, Inc. (ISS) (Nasdaq SmallCap: ISNS) announced today that Volkswagen AG in Germany has purchased the first Autoscope Solo® Mobile trailer for video traffic data collection and analysis along 80 km of roadway around their manufacturing facility in Wolfsburg, Germany.
The Autoscope Solo Mobile trailer can be placed at a remote location on a roadway, and may be left unattended for up to 48 hours. Utilizing battery power, the trailer has a 12-meter (39-foot) hydraulic mast that can be raised or lowered to the desired height to ensure an unobstructed camera view. Atop the telescoping mast, an Autoscope Solo image sensor with full pan/tilt capability, is able to capture real-time video images of passing and stopped vehicles and record critical data on traffic counts, vehicle speed and vehicle classification by length.
Developed by DataCollect GmbH & Company KG, the exclusive Autoscope distributor in Germany, the Autoscope Solo Mobile trailer provides unique capability for portable traffic data collection and vehicle detection applications. Additional Autoscope Solo trailers are being used for a variety of real-time traffic management applications at major trade shows and expositions, such as CeBIT 2000 in Hannover, Germany (20-25 March 2000), where 700,000 visitors and 7,000 exhibitors from more than 70 countries are gathered to discuss the latest innovations in factory automation, hi-tech manufacturing techniques, energy and research and technology. Autoscope Solo was selected over other technologies due to ease of system set-up and configuration.
