This position is located in our office in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Position Purpose:

Image Sensing Systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team. This position will be responsible for independently managing the lifecycle of engineering projects, ensuring high quality products are developed on schedule and within budget. This position will have visibility in all aspects of process management, from running daily scrums to managing manufacturing and launch timelines, and budget oversight. The Senior Project Manager is not expected to carry out the engineering development work, but instead, ensure adherence to budget, schedule, scope, profitability and customer satisfaction. This individual will report directly to the CEO, and will be an influential contributor to the development and execution of corporate growth and continuous improvement strategies.      

Essential Position Functions:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Successfully manage product development initiatives from conception to launch.
  • Develop, define, and execute project plans, scope, activities, schedules, budgets and deliverables.
  • Continually evaluate existing processes to increase efficiency and ensure quality.
  • Responsible for ensuring project teams successfully complete their objectives within requisite time frames.
  • Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Scrum Master responsibilities, including facilitating daily scrums, sprint planning, and sprint review meetings.
  • Recognize and effectively communicate goals and critical success factors, persuasively and timely.
  • Coordinate activities and tasks among project team members, other internal departments, clients, vendors and subcontractors to meet production goals, and ensure project completion is on schedule, within budget constraints, and of the appropriate quality.
  • Inform and support the Product Manager, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Track team progress through burndown charts or other mechanisms.
  • Perform analysis of resource utilization on current projects to determine estimation and execution accuracies.
  • Coach project teams on how to use Agile/Scrum practices.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project status updates.
  • Hold teams accountable, provide relevant feedback, and constructive criticism when issues emerge.
  • Proactively identify and remove impediments and/or guide & support product teams in doing so independently.
  • Assist with execution of internal and external communication; improve transparency, relevancy and accuracy of information.
  • Manage the integration of vendor/subcontractor tasks, track and review deliverables, if applicable.
  • Conduct project closure activities to formalize and communicate the project’s completion, handover documentation, and ongoing activities. This includes completing a post-implementation review to identify coordination process gaps and other areas for improvement. Recommend and implement solutions.

 Education and Experience/Skills Requirements:

  • ·      5-10 years of relevant professional experience managing multiple, complex projects and teams; including creation and oversight of budgets and timelines.

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in management, business, or related field.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management standards, processes, procedures and guidelines using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience in an Agile product development environment required.
  • Able to multi-task, excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Self-directed, emotionally intelligent leader.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills as a facilitator, communicator, and motivator.
  • Experience managing projects that require hardware manufacturing and software development preferred
  • Demonstrated analytic, problem solving, group dynamic, conflict, and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess advanced skills in the use of project management software.
  • Ability to set clear expectations, manage team performance, and build morale and resilience among team members.
  • Successfully maintain confidentiality and carry out assignments that are of a sensitive nature.

  • Familiarity with TFS preferred
