This position is located in our office in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Position Purpose:

Supports engineering in the creation, revision, distribution, storage, and control of all forms of documentation, including but not limited to documentation structures for new products, change orders to existing products, and component lifecycle maintenance through a database management system.

Essential Position Functions:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Generate and maintain manufacturing documentation for ISS products in accordance with ISS organizational scheme and quality practices. Leverage high-level knowledge of manufacturing process to propose logical documentation structures for new products.
  • Manage the execution and flow of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) 
  • Coordinate documentation timelines with engineering, supply chain, contract manufacturing, and other business stakeholders.
  • Participate in engineering planning meetings to define documentation schedule based upon engineering milestones.
  • Manage the delivery and quality of engineering documentation to ISS’s contract manufacturers. Review CAD drawings, work instructions, BOMs, and other engineering documents for completeness and accuracy through their entire lifecycle.
  • Work closely with supply chain and engineering to maintain component AVL, approve/reject substitution requests, manage change requests, and manage manufacturing issues related to ISS documentation.
  • Assemble, and maintain the compliance technical files for ISS products.
  • Be main point of contact for ISS’s contract manufacturers with regard to documentation to ensure documentation practices result in documentation that meets their need.

Education and Experience/Skills Requirements:

  • 3+ years managing product manufacturing documentation in a PLM System
  • 3+ years working with contract manufacturers related to product documentation maintenance
  • Experience building and organizing at least one entirely new documentation package for a newly developed product
  • Experience transitioning at least one entirely new product into manufacturing
  • High-level understanding of manufacturing concepts (SMT, manual assembly, device programming)
  • Associates degree or higher
  • PLM tool management, ECO/ECN/ECR workflows
  • Ability to work independently with only high-level direction
  • Ability to learn new tools through training resources
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to coordinate with engineers and lead a documentation building effort

​Desirable Skills/Attributes (preferred but not required)

  • Experience with ISO9001 and other quality processes
  • Arena PLM experience
  • CAD Viewers (AutoCAD), ability to read drawings and edit drawing text
  • OrCAD 16, ability to extract BOMs, update Part Manager, or make minor schematic edits

Physical Demands:

  • Should be able to work comfortably in a typical office environment.
  • Should be able to travel nationally and internationally. 
  • Some minor lifting may be required. 
  • Requirement to work effectively in foreign environments with varying cultures, customs and foods.
