This position is located in our office in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Position Purpose:

The Accounting Intern will provide support with duties relating to accounting and finance, including processing of Accounts Receivable and Accounts payable. The selected candidate for this role will work closely with the Senior Accountant and Corporate Controller. The ideal candidate for this role is a spring 2019 graduate with strong analytical reasoning skills, prior experience with Excel, and thrives working in a fast-paced environment. The Accounting Intern will report to the Corporate Controller.  

Essential Position Functions:

  • Maintain the AP & AR processes; obtain approvals, payment processing, etc...
  • Reconcile bank accounts, petty cash, credit card statements, and other month-end close projects
  • Assist with all audit and tax preparation and requests
  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, financial analysis, and other ad hoc finance projects
  • Assist with quarterly and annual SEC regulated reporting requirements
  • Participate in initiatives to improve processes and create efficiencies

Education and Experience/Skills Requirements:

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with graduation in spring of 2019.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Mac (Outlook, Excel, Word, Keynote) strong excel skills
  • An analytical mindset with strong problem solving, communication, and writing skills
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality regarding all aspects of work
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cross-divisional projects
  • Ability to work independently and be resourceful
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, mission driven organization
  • Ability to consistently apply good judgment and make good and responsible decisions

Physical Demands:

  • Should be able to work comfortably in a typical office environment.
  • Some minor lifting may be required.
