Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Position Purpose:
Testing of ISS products to ensure high quality. Primary focusing on system level tests to address large-scale applications where ISS products are deployed in a complex or routed networked environment.

Essential Position Functions:

  • Perform testing of systems that are a combination of Hardware and Software
  • Define, implement and maintain the network architecture of ISS test equipment
  • Work closely with software, algorithm, and hardware groups to gather specifications and write up appropriate test plans related to large system deployment types applications
  • Perform regression testing of internal software builds, and testing that functionality of new features meet specs
  • Identifies functional problems and suggests resolutions.
  • Assist in the definition of internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs.
  • Work closely with product support engineers to assist in diagnosing customer issues as well as follow up once issues are addressed
  • Provide support to production engineers at contract manufacturing facilities manufacturing ISS products
  • Help maintain the equipment in the QA and Technical Services laboratory
  • Help maintain the ISS internal bug tracking system

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field such as IT, MIS, Engineering, or Physics
  • Minimum 5 years experience working with IT and computer network systems
  • Experience with large-scale deployment of network systems and design architecture
  • Experience writing test scripts for trouble shooting network related problems
  • Experience writing custom software clients using manufacturers’ developer’s kits
  • Experience writing and executing test plans related to communication links and data integrity over routed network
  • Experienced with bug tracking systems
  • Experience working with IT and computer networking devices such as routers, switches, hubs, etc.
  • Familiar with Windows and Linux operation systems
  • Familiarity with software build and test processes
  • Familiar with a variety of QA concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to read technical documentation (e.g. electrical schematics, technical datasheets)

  • Experience with imaging systems, radar detection systems, or network communications
