Officers & Senior Management

Ken Aubrey - President and CEO

Mr. Aubrey was appointed President in January 2007 and as Chief Executive Officer in May 2007. He was elected to the board of directors at our annual meeting of shareholders held in May 2007. From 1995 to 2006, Mr. Aubrey held various positions with Siemens AG, most recently as a business unit president of Siemens' ITS Division, Industrial Solutions & Services Group. He concurrently managed Strategic Projects for the ITS Division. Prior to this, Aubrey served as a vice president of Strategic Projects for Siemens' Information and Communication Networks Group.

Greg Smith - Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Smith was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer in January 2007. From 2002 through 2006, Mr. Smith was Chief Financial Officer of MQSoftware, Inc., a privately-held software developer. He has prior experience as a vice president for Digital River, Inc., a publicly-held e-commerce outsourcing provider and was a CPA with Ernst & Young LLP.

Dan Skites - VP of Sales and Marketing

Mr. Skites was appointed as Vice President of Sales and Marketing in November 2010. From August 2007 through October 2010, Mr. Skites held sales and business development senior management positions at Global Traffic Technologies, LLC, a privately-held traffic products company that was formed by 3M Company's divestiture of certain of its traffic assets. Prior to this, he was a Business Development Manager for 3M Company, a publicly-held comglomerate, within its traffic division.

James W. Bracke - Chairman of the Board

Mr. Bracke was named a director in March 2009 and Chairman in September 2011. Mr. Bracke has been the Managing Director of Green Gas LLC, a medical waste-to-energy company, since January 2009. He has been the President of Boulder Creek Consulting, LLC, a business and technology consulting firm, since 2004. From 2004 to 2006, he was Vice President of EPIEN Medical, Inc., a privately-held medical device company. Mr. Bracke is also a director of HickoryTech Corporation, a publicly-held company. Mr. Bracke is a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Michael C. Doyle - Director

Mr. Doyle was named a director in April 2011. Mr. Doyle has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Econolite Group, Inc., a traffic control equipment manufacturer and distributor and parent company to Econolite Control Products, Inc. since 1978. He has also been a partner in the law firm of Stone & Doyle since 1978. Mr. Doyle was also Chairman of ITS America for the 2007-2008 term. Prior to this, he was a partner in the public accounting firm Alexander Grant & Company (a predecessor to Grant Thornton LLP).

Panos G. Michalopoulos - Director

Dr. Michalopoulos is our founder and has been a director since 1984. Dr. Michalopoulos was a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Minnesota from 1997 to 2009. Dr. Michalopoulos has more than 35 years of research, teaching, and consulting experience in traffic engineering operations and control. He has taught at several universities, consulted with many firms in the United States and abroad and has worked as a traffic engineer. He is internationally recognized for his contributions in traffic flow theory, management and control. Dr. Michalopoulos is chairman of the Nominating and Corporate Governance committee and a member of the compensation and stock option committee.

James Murdakes - Director

Mr. Murdakes has been a director since 1994. Mr. Murdakes was Chairman of the Board from February 2002 until September 2011 and was Chief Executive Officer from April 2002 until May 2007. He was retired from full-time employment beginning in July 2007. Mr. Murdakes is also a director of Comtrol Corporation, a private corporation providing data communications products. Mr. Murdakes spent 25 years with Control Data (CDC) of Minneapolis in a number of senior management positions. Upon retirement from CDC in June 1987, he was appointed President and CEO of Clyde Digital, a software company located in Orem, Utah. Following Clyde's merger with Raxco, of Rockville, Maryland, he served as President and CEO of LSC, a Minneapolis systems integrator for network storage servers from 1993 through 1996.

Kris Tufto - Director

Mr. Tufto was named a director in September 2011. Mr. Tufto has been the Chief Revenue Officer of Code42 Software, Inc., a provider of computer backup solutions, since 2010. From May 2008 to January 2010, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of MarketingBridge, LLC, a company providing internet connectivity. From April 2005 until April 2008, he served as an executive with or consultant to several early-stage technology companies. Prior to this, he served in leadership and sales management positions in numerous high-growth technology companies, including Jasc Software and Cray Research. Mr. Tufto is also a director of Sajan, Inc., a publicly-held software and services company. Mr. Tufto is a member of the Audit Committee.

Sven Wehrwein - Director

Mr. Wehrwein was named a director in October 2006. Mr. Wehrwein has been an independent financial consultant to emerging companies since 1999. Mr. Wehrwein is also a director of Synovis Life Technologies, Inc., and Uroplasty, Inc., all of which are publicly-held companies. Within the last five years, Mr. Wehrwein also served as a director of six mutual funds in the Van Wagoner group. Mr. Wehrwein is chair of the Audit Committee and is a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and Compensation and Stock Option Committee. He has over 30 years of experience in corporate finance and investment banking.
